In 2031, Area-Z opens up the dark side of Earth. It's the result of a terrible virus that afflicts the entire world. Because of this event, people around the world become zombies— controlled by the virus that wants to drink blood from their minds. A very small number of survivors gathered in a close-knit group. They were protected from the virus or had developed immunity to it. In order to cure the virus and restore humanity, scientists must find a way to protect themselves in zombie-populated cities. They need to find a way to protect humanity from extinction while searching for a cure. In order to speed up this process, private military companies and groups of mercenaries work together to fight off zombies and safeguard the scientists who devote every minute and hour to their research. In Area-Z, the story is centered around New York City. The city is the site of the darkest zombie apocalypse and the official starting point of the war against zombies to protect humanity.

Area-Z is a 3D shooter game with top-down perspective. Overcast 3D graphics create an atmosphere of dread in the game. Players must fight a zombie horde that appears more aggressive and stronger than before. During gameplay, players will likely face defense, shooting and additional bombardment from their enemy. Aside from being blood-obsessed, zombies simply sniff out live prey and pursue them. Therefore, the only way to stay alive is to avoid them or fight back. Area-Z's thrill comes from the very end of its Shooting Screen. As well as this, the game's dark space adds to the thrill. Any place in the vast New York City is a battle zone at any time. From the sounds of footsteps to screams from every direction, my games give me the creeps. I especially hate night time stalking when I'm playing. As a warrior protecting researchers, you encounter hundreds of terrifying battles against zombies. Each time you win and the scene, you loot valuable survival items such as weapons, defense technologies and more. Each weapon in the game has a different destructive power. Some have faster reloading speeds and more bullets than others. Different weapons have different distance or in-hand flexibility. This means choosing between a range or direct attack determines the game's strategy in Area-Z. In other shooting games, terrain features typically influence which strategy to use. After each victory, you receive new abilities and methods of transportation. These include bomb carts, bulletproof buses, spike traps, trolley pushers and obstacles to impede the undead. Subsequently, each victory grants access to additional weapons and ammunition. There are three game modes available in Area-Z: Survival, Defense and Game Mastery. Each one is designed to cater to a specific fighting style. Players can choose from one of these three styles when starting a new game. After that, each fighter can take different approaches to combat depending on the mode they chose.

When I first saw Area-Zs's 3D graphics, they confused me and made me feel bored. But after playing the game, I understand the game's developer’s goals. The muffling effect of the smog and its hazy nature makes it more difficult for players to win during a battle against zombies. Achieving success with each shot fires a burst of light through the barrel and into the night. This background juxtaposition drives players wild with satisfaction. A smooth character movement is critical to the climax. I believe game speed doesn't need to be fast, regular, or slow when viewed from the top down. The perceived speed in my opinion should be just right for players to enjoy the shooting scenes without being overly stressed. Additionally, this style of play should be comfortable and stress-free. The sounds appropriately highlight each heroic battle phase without being too broad or epic. ———
