Elemental Dungeon transforms dungeon explorers into Elementalists. These heroes wield the power of nature in their crusade to discover the origins of all elements. You first meet a cloaked old man during the game. He taught you how to harness nature's powers, like using fire to destroy wooden boxes. Creating a stone wall with earth powers is another one of his lessons. Also, you can use the elements to fight when going deeper into the dungeons. The old man will appear when exploring the dungeons and he'll teach you how to use your combat skills with the elements.

This game combines six elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, Ice and Darkness. Players can equip up to three elements at once; these can then be combined to create more powerful effects. Combining all three elements results in the most powerful magic. Certain shields can be made by long-pressing on an element. These shields protect s from the damage caused by that same element. Temples can upgrade elements of a similar type for special effects.

This game shares many similarities to Soul Knight in the way of exploration of dungeons. You use your abilities to through alternative portals. When you die, your game session rewinds to the previous checkpoint. However, the dungeon configuration changes as a result of a randomizing system. Instead of acquiring new abilities from equipment, the characters access new elements and spells through a nearby store. Combining them creates higher-level skills capable of creating more advanced combat maneuvers. This video game uses a console with a virtual left and right hand that you can use to interact with the game. By using joysticks, players can attack, defend and move around in the game.

In Elemental Dungeon, players can exchange Coins, Energy and Gem currencies. New characters can be purchased using currency, Gems.
