When playing Furious Payback Racing's street racing mode, you must always keep track of the bends in the race while moving around constantly. Doing this correctly earns you nitro points that will increase your chance of winning. The same applies to any other racing modes in the game; players must always pay attention to the racing process and overcome their opponents to win. There is a new mode above the basic one. It's called time trial, and your opponent is now Time instead of another racer. There's a timer on the right side of the screen; you can also see the stopwatch that comes with it. In this mode, you have to drive carefully and maintain a high speed for the car. Additionally, you must avoid overturning the car— this is because it'll take time to turn around initial state. Players can access a drag race mode without much practice. This particular mode requires players to be quick and observant when their car's speed changes color and increases quickly. Every time the watch indicates the car is green, the player should press a button. Doing so causes the speed of the car to increase and by the opponent.

Just like in Furious Twist Racing, players unlock a list of cars for Furious Payback Racing. These cars appear in black shadow and have blueprints at the bottom of the screen. Players must earn enough blueprints to unlock vehicles that they want. This journey is long and challenging, and some players might unlock vehicles they like. Many cars have specific upgrades or customizations that are required in order to use them. This is because aside from the cars' unlockable features, players must also change their appearance with the game's suggestions. In order to upgrade the performance of a vehicle, you need to collect enough tokens instead of paying for them. Finding many tokens will lead to superior performance gains. Doing so with nitro makes victory easier. In this game, players can’t break away from the driving experience that’s authentic to the plot.
