MedLit provides real-time video calling functionality that allows s to seamlessly communicate between patient and physician as well as between student and physician. The app enables smooth and reliable video calls even when s switch between different apps or the app is minimized.

To ensure uninterrupted calls, the application uses the foreground service during active calls. This foreground service helps maintain a stable connection and ensures that ongoing calls are not interrupted by background processes. It also provides s with a notification indicating that a call is in progress, ensuring that they are aware of ongoing activity.

These features are enabled by the Agora RTC Engine, which requires the FOREGROUND_SERVICE permission to efficiently run the application's real-time communication services during active calls.
